Maxie Jones: My New Hero

It seems so strange to me that Maxie, a character whose evil ways caused me to despise her, is suddenly my favorite character! I feel that I must be soulless to enjoy watching her cause havoc on the fair Lulu, make light of Sonny’s mobsterness, look down on Liz, and well everything else she does.
My hope is that when Kate crumbles and is carted off to Shadybrook (oh and she will eventually…. all the ladies in Sonny’s life do) I hope Maxie becomes in charge of Crimson and rules the streets of Port Chuck with a Devil Wears Prada kind of sass. You go Maxie! And kudos to Claudia in doing her homework, she went to the right girl…
Speaking of Devil Wears Prada, what was with el stupido and el stupidette’s The Devil Wears Goodfellas conversation? What is it that the writers are trying to accomplish by having Sonny compare his life (Goodfellas) with Kate’s life (Devil Wears Prada)? It only makes him look stupid. Why writers? Why?
Does anyone remember Nico from All My Children? Or the Sonny that took in Stone, and made a generation of soap fans swoon? Where is that Sonny? Where has he gone? Can we put out an ad?
“Missing: Tough, cool, smart, sexy, mob boss. If found please return to Jason Morgan c/o The PC Mob Offices”
OLTL: Lanview Just Keeps Getting Better
Tomorrow! The return of Marty Saybrook & Tina Lord! Woo Hoo! Soon to be followed by Cord Roberts, and a series of great story lines to celebrate it’s 40th anniversary!
GH Writers: Please Take Notes

Outstanding Writing, Acting, and All Around Soapiness Goes To… One Life To Live!!
The scenes of Nash’s death have been beyond tragic. I don’t remember the last time I actually was brought to not tears, but all out crying during a soap. Forbes March & Bree Williamson SOOOO deserve at the very least Emmy nods for the last two days. Forbes did more acting with his eyes in those final scenes than some actors do in a lifetime! And Bree? How gut wrenching was it watching Jess fall apart? Watching Jess bring in baby Bree to say goodbye to her dying daddy? Telling him she was pregnant in the moments before he died? GUT WRENCHING!
Then her realistic portrayal of the first morning waking up alone, her breakdown with Vicki, and the smack heard around the world when she socked up her sister, whose partly to blame for her husband’s death. I actually cheered when Jess hit Natalie, I did.
GH writers, please take note! That’s how you write a show…
With the return of Tina & Marty it seems are only going to get better over in Lanview!
GH: Promoting Napping In The Afternoon Instead Of Watching

The winner of the “Pot Calling Kettle Black” award goes to LULU! How is it possible that the writers could take a character that a year or so ago, I dearly loved, and make her into the most annoying and infuriating character on the canvas? Telling Nik to stay away from Claudia? You’ve got to be kidding me! Ms. “I’ve got to date every single guy that anyone tells me not to date” Spencer is dolling out the relationship advice? About the crazy sister of the crazy guy she’s dating? At least Nik is an adult who actually can take care of himself. Maybe I should just be glad that she took her head out of her “you-know-what” to actually show even just a little concern for someone other than herself for once…
Yawn. Could the blog wars between Scrubs be any more boring? Yes, apparently they can. Throw Maxie & Spinelli into the mix and it’s even less appealing. Not that I don’t like Spinelli & Maxie, it’s just that… yawn. Excuse me, it’s just so boring. I hate what they’ve done to Robin.
El Stupido & el Stupidette squabble with Jax over Stupido’s involvement in the distribution deal for Crimson. The deal that el Stupido threatened to use his “Mob connections” to get. Jax has gone through a million hoops to get Sonny OUT of his life, and then Kate lets Sonny stick his nose in Jax’s business? Tsk Tsk. At least she pointed out to Sonny, that if he thinks he can keep all the power and favors of being a mob king without the danger, he’s living in magic land. I myself have been referring to GH’s mob land as Neverland for awhile now. It looks like being with el Stupido hasn’t killed all Kate’s brain cells. Yet.
Speaking of el Stupido killing people’s brain cells, I loved Maxie thinking that el Stupido caused Spinelli to have brain damage. Hilarious! Until of course Stupido started picking on Spinelli again. Do the writers realize how bad it looks to have Sonny pick on teenagers? Do they?
Maybe I should’ve been a little more touched by Nik’s scene at Emily’s grave. But I wasn’t. They dragged her death/haunting/hallucination out waaaaay too long for me to care anymore. Yawn.
Here’s an actual conversation from the writer’s office over at GH.
Writer1: “Hey! You know how we didn’t think we could possibly make Lulu any more annoying or look any dumber than we already have?”
Writer2: “Yea, I know. Why? Did you think of something?”
Writer1: “Yea! what if we had her pick a fight with the toughest and coolest looking chick on the canvas right now? Wouldn’t that make her look really really dumb?”
Writer2: “Yea it would be like watching a little Chihuahua nip at a Doberman! It’s brilliant!”
(high fives all around the writers room)
Meanwhile Over In Lanview…
Poor poor Jessica! OLTL has been pretty awesome these days (GH writers PLEASE take notes), but the abrupt dismissal of Forbes March and subsequent grisly death of Nash, was AWFUL. And it ain’t even over yet! Jessica’s hand to belly move showed us that she’s pregnant! Nothing says sad sudsy soapy story than being pregnant with a dead man’s baby. I was very happy to see Nash call Natalie on being the little tramp that she is, it’s just too bad it cost him his life. I’m not sure why they let Forbes go, Nash & Jess were one of my favorite soap couples right now. A total shame. Good luck Forbes!

On One Life To Live to be specific. Now that Tuc Watkins (known to some as the Desperate Househusband, Bob Hunter over at Desperate Housewives) is back over in Lanview for the summer, I couldn’t be happier. He is probably the funniest actor on any soap, and has great chemistry with anybody. I mean ANYBODY! He’s hot, fabulous, hilarious, and breathing some much needed life back into daytime! Thanks ABC for bringing him back to Lanview!
