Deadly Pizza

June 20, 2008

Well what a week over in Port Chuck. Let’s get to the meat (pun intended) of it, shall we?

  • Lucky & Sam are very cute. I’m amazed at how far they have come with redeeming both characters as well as Liz. The last two years have just been the demise of all three of these characters. And as it turns out, once Jason was removed from the story they all started to become like able again. The adventures in Mexico were a refreshing change. Even the honest exchange upon their return to Port Chuck was nice, with Sam fully admitting that she becomes desperate and possessive in a realationship. Admitting that is true sign that the character has grown a bit. Though I don’t feel that Lucky & Sam make a good couple for the long run, I do like them together now. So I’ll take the good where I can get it.
  • The Infectious delivery guy was a hard story to swallow, but entertaining nonetheless. There is a somewhat odd chemistry between Jason, Claudia, & Spinelli. It does make for some funny moments. With that said, a few funny moments does not change the fact that Claudia is responsible for Michael’s shooting, and therefor puts her into a category I call, “Irredeemable”. I hate when the writers box a character in like that, because nothing they write can reverse the irredeemable act in which the character took part.
  • That brings me of course to Jerry Jacks, Moreau, Mr. Craig. The baddy of all baddies. Here’s the man that has double crossed EVERYONE during his time in the PC. His introduction was the killing of Alan, and he shot Robin, forcing an ugly operation, and almost killing a pregnant Liz. All of this by taking everyone hostage in his own brothers hotel. Though the actor and the character are likable, a lot, it makes no sense to have Alexis, of all people fall under his spell. I know he can offer protection, but really, it’s only a matter of time before he turns on her. I’m glad Jax socked him up. Their arrest after their fight, of course another chance for GH to bump up visibility of the Police Station for Night Shift.
  • Mac is being a little silly, and arresting Patrick was the icing on the cake of that silliness. I can’t wait to see what they do with Robert when he returned over on NS…
  • The photo shoot over in the metro court did nothing for me. Kate is working my nerves more and more with each passing day. And the inevitable proposal from Sonny is about as lame as Kate’s…well as lame as Kate herself.
  • Speaking of Kate being lame, how has she not fired Lulu yet? On the rare occasions that Lulu is at work, she usually with Johnny, or attracting other Mafioso like Anthony Zacharra to come around and play Goodfellas in Kate’s office. Lulu’s work ethic over at Crimson is so bad that it makes Kate look even worse for keeping her there.
  • Maxie on the other hand seems very real and comfortable in the new world of Crimson that GH is creating. The problem is Lulu. Their rivalry has been an enjoyable one, but it’s getting old. I have no doubt that Maxie can get to Johnny, only because she always gets to Lulu’s men, eventually. I just think they can do more with Maxie than having her keep seducing lulu’s guys…
  • Since I’m at it, how about Lulu skipping work to whisk Johnny away to the Q’s boat house? Then getting flirty & sexy. Then finally, at the last second before they duck inside to do the deed, then she decides to tell him about Dhillon, and her virginity, and getting pregnant, and the abortion….Thank God Tracy stopped them because the kiss after ward had me feeling a little puky…
  • Does anyone else feel serious pain every time Alan arrives in that track suit?
  • I totally heart Max & Diane. They’re so cute, and they’re anti marriage views make complete sense over there in Port Chuck. I’m surprised more folks don’t run screaming form the mere mention of marriage over there…

Thursday & Friday Recaps

June 7, 2008

Well it’s Friday and that means another 5 hours of my life have been waisted on GH. Five hours I will never get back. Thanks GH writers.

Johnny boy appeals to Jason for peace, or was that last week? Or the week before? Or last month? I don’t know anymore. Than Claudia shows up and tells Jason that there will only be peace if Anthony is dead. Or was that last week? Or the week before? Or last month? I don’t know anymore. Ever get the feeling that the writers are just writing the same conversations over and over and over again? Carly and

Claudia waved their claws at each other after Carly stepped in to defend her little nip napping lap dog of a cousin, Lulu. That’s right kids, I’m a hater now. After this past week of watching Lulu incessantly push her little nose where it doesn’t belong, and practically stalking Claudia, I’m convinced that the writers over at GH have it out for Julie Marie Berman, who is much better than the material she’s being given. Totally sucks for her.

Spinelli tries to recover from seeing Stupido & Stupidette having sex on the desk, by trying to have sex on the desk himself with Maxie… That’s what he gets for listening to Diane. Robin whines and cries about something… Patrick looks cuter when the mute button is on. *sigh* When is daddy Drake coming back again?

I have to say by the end of today I have decided to give my full support to Nik & Claudia as a couple. Here’s why.

  1.  I am soooo tired of mopey gloomy Nikolas. OK, so it’s not like he hasn’t always been a little brooding, but this whole “lost the love of my life & I had a brain tumor” has just been such a downer…
  2. If Lulu & Johnny give Nik or Claudia the “he/she’s no good for you” speech ONE MORE TIME, I will jump off a roof. So help me…
  3. Claudia has not yet lost her cool factor (though I suppose we should give the writers time) and by having her with anyone other than Sonny helps keep her cool factor high.

Speaking of Sonny, (Stupido) papa Stupido got himself beat up by a loan shark. A loan shark who is no longer afraid of Sonny, because he’s not a kingpin anymore, just a coffee importer (like that makes him any less crazy). When Sonny confronts the loan shark, him & his goons don’t back down from Sonny. Sonny gets scared and goes and takes it out on someone he is tougher than, Spinelli. Pushing Spinelli around and calling him “freaky Boy” doesn’t make Sonny tough. It doesn’t even make him a thug. It just makes him a big old jackass. He tells Jason to “take care” of the loan shark. Jason reminds Sonny that’s he’s not the boss of him…

Poor Spinelli. Not only is Maxie blind to his feelings for her, he’s keeps getting verbally and physically roughed up by Stupido & Stupidette, but Stupido broke his laptop. Good thing nurse Mir ran in to him on the  dock, on her way to a wedding, dateless….
Somehow in the midst of all this stupidity, Sam and Elizabeth manage to have an adult conversation, about an adult topic, and come up with adult results. I was shocked to see them make amends in such an adult like manner. These girls haven’t acted older than JR high school girls in almost a year. It was such a pleasant scene that went such a long way in redeeming both characters, that it made me sure the writers must be planning on messing it up somehow. I’m not sure how, but mark my words, they’ll find a way!

Another pleasant scene? The sweet and touching music montage of Jax & Carly in bed. Their decision to wait on having another child and than having such a moving scene leads me to believe Carly will be preggers in no time. But wait, didn’t she have sex with Stupido  just a week ago? Oh crap. Please tell me we are not on the verge of another mob related who’s the daddy story line? Please, for all that’s good and holy, NOOOOO!

Just another week in the PC…

Recap For The Week of 5/26-5/30

June 1, 2008

You know that the writing on GH has become so unoriginal because it took me 15 minutes to realize that Monday’s episode was a rerun. In fact if it weren’t for Liz’s preggo belly (which for a moment I thought maybe I had missed a scene where she announced she was pregnant again) I may have gone the entire episode just thinking the writers were doing another stupid hostage crisis. But no, it was indeed a rerun. An unwise choice if you ask me. The writers keep playing with the idea of Alexis and Jerry Jax, and replaying the episode that clearly shows what a sociopath he is, doesn’t help. It also didn’t help in that it reminded us that he’s walking freely among the streets of Port Chuck, after shooting Robin, inadvertently causing Alan’s heart attack (and continued ghostly afterlife in a track suit), plus just being an all around BAD guy. Thanks for reminding us, TIIC.

I am clearly convinced that Steve Burton is as annoyed and bored with the show as I am. Have you noticed that every time Sonny’s talking to him he has a look on his face like he just wants to plug his ears and say “Na Na Na… I’m not listening to you…NA NA NA..”. Actually, that could be what’s happening for all I know, because actually that is what I do when Sonny starts rambling. Rambling is just what Sonny did as he fought with Jason over taking over the mob. In the Mob world of NEVERLAND that Sonny lives in, he thinks simply signing over the mob to Jason will make him and the family safe. It’s THE MOB, Sonny, not a car! When Jason says that it won’t be enough to keep everyone safe, Sonny accuses Jason of regretting his decision to keep Jake’s paternity a secret, and he wishes he could do what Sonny is doing..Yea, hi kettle, my name is black… I’ve been hating on Jason for a long time now, but these days he’s the only one making any smart decisions around Port Chuck. After seeing the number Sonny’s life has done on everyone, Jason should be shipping Jake off to Timbuktu and keep him as far away as possible.

Though if he did that, then we wouldn’t be subjected to the annoyingly puppy eyed looks he shoots Elizabeth & baby Jake when they’re looking at boats on the docks with faux dad, Lucky. Give it up Jason, you’re better off alone. Just like you keep saying. Now quit with the puppy dog looks and get back to the job of looking annoyed with everyone.

Meanwhile, over at casa Carly, she has packed her & little Morgan’s bags and ordered Spinelli to give them identities so they can run away. Since Jax is gone, again. If I were Carly, I’d probably be doing the same thing. Jason stops her though. He vows to get Sonny to sign over his parental rights of Michael & Morgan. Spinelli takes it upon himself to tell Sonny that he too, agrees with the idea, and promptly is given a Sonny sized concussion. Is it just me, or is El Stupido (Sonny) only beating up people smaller than him these days? Wasn’t the last person punched out Johnny? You know, a kid who could probably be his grandson? Ever heard of picking on someone your own size El Stupido?

Sonny then give El Stupidette (Kate) props for keeping her cool in the midst of his tumultuous life. I say give her a room at Shadybrook. That’s where she’ll end up anyway. Excuse me, I didn’t hear the rest of their conversation because I had my hands covering my ears and I was saying “Na Na Na… I can’t hear you…”

Maxie nurses Spinelli while he recovers from said concussion, and somehow he mistakenly thinks they slept together. Strange…he still doesn’t seem stupider than Sonny.

Over at the Mob hut, Anthony uses tired mob movie cliches to threaten Lulu and everyone else, then barks orders. Am I wrong for hoping Tony Soprano will bust in and take them all out? I wonder, does the real mob watch this and laugh, or do they simply weep?

Patrick & Robin win the award for the fastest shift from couple whose most adored to the couple whose most bored…

Jason and Sonny agree that Jason will take over the mob if Sonny signs away rights to the boys. Sonny tells Carly and they hug. A hug of course witnessed by Jax, whose already agreed to give himself and Carly a little distance. This coming after his trip to Europe where he almost saw Brenda. Rumors swirl that Vanessa Marcel is coming back. Van, if you’re reading this, DON”T COME! It’s a trick! They’ll ruin you like everyone else they’ve brought back!! RUN GIRL! RUN!

Anyhow, Jason tells the Zacharra’s that he’s now in charge. This of course gives Anthony more reason to spout more cliches. Including telling slick Ric to woo Claudia and get her to go against Johnny boy. Jason then retaliates his shipment being destroyed by setting fire to the Mob hut. For once, he doesn’t look annoyed as he watches the place burn.

Upon hearing that Sonny has signed away parental rights to the boys, Alexis asks him to do the same for Kristina. He says no, in true El Stupido fashion.

Sam agrees to help Spinelli become…sexy. Maxie tricks Johnny into coming over to the office where she plants a kiss on him as part of her latest plan to drive Lulu crazy. Jax & Carly decide that they’re going to fight for their marriage. Lucky & Liz suspect that someone is messing with medication over at GH.

Just another week in Port Chuck.
